What geopathic stress means
Geopathic stress is the term used in dowsing practice for the influence attributed to certain features that run beneath a plot: underground water veins, geological fault lines, cavities and mineral or metal formations. Traditional practice holds that the lines these features create can be traced across a site, and that the zones where several of them cross read differently from the rest of the plot.
We are direct about the standing of this. It is a traditional practice, not a laboratory measurement, and we present the survey as one input into your decisions rather than as an established physical finding. We make no claims about health of any kind, and if anyone tells you a dowsing survey treats or prevents illness, that is a claim we would not stand behind. What the survey offers is a map of what the plot appears to carry, produced by someone who has walked sites this way since 1992.
How a geopathic stress survey is conducted
The work is done on the land itself. We walk the plot on a grid, using rods and pendulum, and mark where the responses occur. Those points are joined into lines and the lines are transferred onto your site plan or floor plan, so you finish with a drawing rather than a verbal impression.
Where a building already stands, the same walk is done through the interior, room by room, so the lines can be read against where people actually spend time: beds, desks, the seat behind the counter, a child's study table. On an undeveloped plot the survey is done before the layout is fixed, which is by far the better sequence.
We then discuss what is on the map and what is worth acting on. Not every line crosses somewhere that matters, and a line running under a corridor or a storeroom is a different proposition from one running under a bed.
What can be done about a stressed zone
The first option is always placement. Moving a bed, a desk or a seating position a few feet, so that it no longer sits over a marked crossing point, costs nothing and is what we recommend before anything else. In an under-construction property the same logic applies at the plan stage, where the room layout can simply be arranged around what the survey found.
Where placement cannot solve it, traditional shielding and correction methods are used, and these are described as traditional practice. We do not recommend demolition for this, and we do not recommend expensive devices. If the practical answer is to move a bed two feet, that is the answer we give.
Borewell water divining
Before you commit to the cost of drilling, dowsing is used on site to identify where underground water is most likely to be found and at what approximate depth. We walk the plot, mark the points we consider most promising, and explain what we found and why. This is a traditional practice and we present it as one input into your decision rather than a guarantee of water.
Dowsing for site and plot selection
If you are choosing between plots or planning a new build, a dowsing survey before purchase is far cheaper than corrections afterwards. We assess the site alongside a Vastu reading of the layout, so you get one combined view rather than two separate opinions that have to be reconciled. On industrial land the survey is usually run together with the layout assessment, since machinery positions and workstation placement are decided at the same stage.

Before, wherever possible. Mapping water sources and geopathic stress lines before the layout is fixed lets the plan be arranged around the findings, which is far less expensive than correcting a completed structure.
